The Liberatory Reconnection Collective

Dear [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE],
We live in a world that often rewards us for abandoning ourselves.
We’re praised for pushing through exhaustion. For numbing our emotions. For staying busy. For producing at all costs. These messages aren’t just cultural—they are systemic. Capitalism needs us to keep producing. Supremacy needs us to disconnect from our inherent worth. Colonization needs us to forget who we are.
Over time, we learn to survive by disconnecting—from our bodies, our needs, our inner knowing. And while this helps us endure, it slowly erodes our sense of self.
If you’ve felt burned out, numb, anxious, or like you’re floating through life rather than rooted in it, you’re not alone. This is not a personal failing—it’s a collective wound that benefits those who hoard power, wealth, and resources.
Disconnection lives in our systems. And it lives in our bodies.
This is where the work of reconnection begins. Not with a new to-do list. Not with fixing ourselves. But with remembering: we are not machines. We are whole, feeling, physical, and soul-filled beings. And we deserve to come home to ourselves.
In the Liberatory Reconnection Framework, Self is the first and foundational relationship. And in many ways, it is our body that first signals when something is out of alignment. Reconnection begins with the body—not as something to be controlled or transcended, but as a wise and worthy place to listen.
Embodiment is resistance. Presence is reclamation.
Some practices to consider:
- Taking three slow breaths and notice if your lungs feel expansive or constricted.
- Letting your body move the way it wants to move, even for just one minute.
- Noticing: where does your body soften? Where does it brace? What is it trying to tell you?
Somatic practices remind us that our bodies carry both survival strategies and ancestral wisdom. Practices like grounding, breathwork, body scans, and gentle movement invite us back into relationship with ourselves. They help us unlearn the supremacy culture that devalues rest, emotion, and embodiment.
These are not easy acts. They are radical ones. Especially in a world that taught us to override ourselves.
Each time we choose presence over performance, care over control, truth over perfection—we return. Slowly, gently, we reclaim our wholeness.
This is how we begin to interrupt systems that thrive on our disconnection.
Reconnection is not just healing—it is liberating.
This week, I invite you to reflect:
- Where in your body do you feel most disconnected?
- What sensations or messages are you learning to listen to?
- What simple practices help you feel more present, more whole?
Let this be a beginning.
In solidarity and with care,
